Thoughts: *grins widely* Hello, readers! Unfortunately, Miss Ella Grace couldn’t join us this week, so I, Raya Lee, am in charge of yet another book review. She has even been kind enough to grant me access to this blog with my own account, so that I don’t keep hacking into hers. I guess that shows that I am a good kidnapper, considering the kid I’ve nabbed (I never understood why it’s kidnapper when you’re actually nabbing the kid… so it should really be kidnabber in my opinion) granted me access to her blog. Not like I’m complaining though! Since I’ve given you some time, I figured it was time to review the second installment of the Wars of the Realm trilogy by Chuck Black! If you have not read Cloak of the Light, this post will contain some spoilers for that book. If I’m being completely honest, I didn’t read this second book until I’d read the first and last book twice through. From the ages of 10-13, this was my favorite book series. EVER. I spent countless hours reading (and rereading) the series, then more countless hours working the nine fanfictions I wrote for it. Though it is no longer my favorite, it still remains very near and dear to my heart. However, just because it was a favorite doesn’t mean it had no flaws. This will be a very honest post, but I hope it convinces you to give the book a shot! I will say, this series is intended for younger children. Thoughts: *cackles wildly* Alas, dear readers, your precious host still remains trapped the clutches of yours truly, Raya Lee. Therefore, I have another chance to ruin her blog by posting about my favorite books instead of hers. Because this is most certainly a book that she has never read but tis fine, as I at least had the decency to ask her permission first before storming her blog about a book she has yet to read. Now, Cloak of the Light by Chuck Black is literally part of my favorite book series of all time. Favorite. Ever. I religiously read the whole series roughly every 3-6 months, sometimes more frequently. Yes, it belongs to a three-part series, called Wars of the Realm. The first book immediately captured my interest; from the very first five words, I was hooked.
